Recipe Of The Week - Bangin' Baked Beans

Whether you’re manning the grill or just showing up hungry, these spicy baked beans are a must-have for your 4th of July BBQ spread. We’ve taken this classic side dish and kicked it up with a punch of flavor using our Spicy Garlic Erry’thang Sauce. The result? A sticky, savory, slightly sweet side with just the right amount of heat.

Perfect Pairing: These beans love company. Serve them alongside grilled ribs, burgers, pulled pork, or even as a topping for hot dogs. And don’t forget to finish the plate with a sprinkle of Spicy Basil Salt for that final flavor flex.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper (red or green)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 cup Erry’thang Spicy Garlic Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: 2 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped (or use a plant-based version)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic until soft (about 4-5 minutes).
  3. Stir in brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, paprika, and Spicy Garlic Sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to blend the flavors.
  4. Add beans and stir to coat evenly. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish. If using bacon, sprinkle it over the top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes or until the top is bubbling and caramelized.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with Spicy Basil Salt for a flavor boost.

Serve It Up:

This dish is a hit at picnics, potlucks, and cookouts—especially during BBQ season. Whether you’re celebrating Independence Day or just love bold summer flavors, these beans bring the heat and the sweet.
